Community Outreach
At Trinity, we believe in supporting our community and in being involved in the larger world with compassionate respect for all.
Dorrwin Jones Senior Center
The Dorrwin Jones Senior Center opened on March 22, 2001. It is a center where Meals on Wheels serves hot meals to seniors five days a week. The center is named in honor of Dorr Jones, a San Franciscan involved in gay and civil rights issues and one of the founders of Meals on Wheels thirty years ago.
Each day the doors open at around nine and people gather and visit and knit and read until lunch when a healthy, well balanced and tasty lunch is served. If you are interested in being a volunteer on Thursdays, Trinity Days, please contact Jane Fenton Kiskaris at (415) 235-5387.
After lunch those who remain may enjoy bingo, music and on Thursday afternoon a dance with a live band.
Trinity Shelter
Every winter, Trinity opens its facilities to the homeless. Led by Marilyn Saner, the program provides shelter for the night for some 80 homeless men. Trinity volunteers also serve a hot dinner and breakfast to our guests. To volunteer or otherwise provide assistance, call Marilyn at (415) 265-3809.
Alcoholics Anonymous
On most weeknights, we provide a meeting space for AA meetings.
