Weddings
Trinity Episcopal Church appears to have been lifted, lock, stock and stained-glass windows, from a quaint village in England—but don’t let the imposing Norman-Romanesque architecture fool you. Beneath the church’s 104-year-old Colusa sandstone exterior beats a progressive heart. This church may look old-fashioned, but the attitudes of its clergy and congregation are firmly rooted in the 21st century.
More important to those planning a wedding, the church places no restrictions on who can get married here. You need not be a member of the congregation, you need not be baptized and you can bring your own clergy or design the ceremony yourself. Same-sex blessings are permitted, and the participation of family members in the ceremony is encouraged. The staff has many innovative ways to include children in a wedding. This is especially nice for couples who are "blending" families, as it gives them a chance to give everyone an active role in starting their new life together. |
